Embedded

Firmware that runs without failure

We build embedded software meant to run for years. Reliability, power use and updates are designed in from day one.

WHO IT IS FOR
Early stage

A prototype on a dev board

The device idea works on a prototype, but a production product with reliable firmware and updates is still a long way off.

Growth stage

Firmware rests on one person

One engineer wrote the code, there is no documentation, and every new feature or board revision takes months.

Scale stage

Devices in the field, no control

Thousands of devices run at customer sites, but you cannot update firmware or see why one failed without a visit.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
Requirements: functions, power use, conditions, certification
Firmware architecture and a justified platform choice
Firmware, drivers and work with peripherals
Link to server and app: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular networks
Over-the-air firmware updates with a rollback option
Testing on a bench and in real operating conditions
Documentation and handover of the code to your team
PROCESS

From request to result

[ 01 ]free · 30 min

Clarity Session

We review the device, its conditions and where development stands. You leave with the key technical risks. No sales pitch.

[ 02 ]14 business days

Requirements and architecture

Requirements, platform choice and firmware architecture. You get a work plan, a timeline and an estimate.

[ 03 ]depends on scope

Development and testing

We build the firmware in iterations and test it on a bench. Each iteration is a working build on real hardware.

[ 04 ]ongoing, monthly cycle

Production and support

Support for series production, over-the-air updates, analysis of field failures and new features.

Frequently asked questions

and answers

How is Embedded different from IoT development?+

Embedded is the software inside the device: firmware, drivers, sensors and power. IoT development covers the system around it: devices, connectivity, server, application and data analytics. Embedded is part of an IoT project, but it also stands alone, for example in devices with no network connection.

Do you develop the hardware as well?+

It depends on the project. The core of the service is software. If the board still needs designing, we join component choice and schematic requirements so firmware and hardware stay aligned. Hardware scope is fixed at estimation.

Why do over-the-air updates matter so much?+

Because bugs show up after production too, and requirements change. Without over-the-air updates, every fix means a recall or a visit. We design a safe update with an integrity check and rollback, so a bad version does not take the device out of service.

Can you extend firmware another engineer wrote?+

Yes, after an audit of the code and the documentation. We assess architecture, reliability and risks, then say plainly which is the better spend: grow the existing firmware or rewrite selected modules.
