Brand Research

How the market sees you now

We gather how customers and competitors describe the brand. You get a map of perception, not a decision on a new position.

WHO IT IS FOR
Early stage

The market is still undescribed

The launch rests on a feel for the category. You do not know how customers name the alternatives or why they pick them.

Growth stage

The brand is easy to confuse

Sales exist, but customers use the same words for you as for competitors. The difference does not live in their language.

Scale stage

Perception has split apart

Products, markets or teams hear different versions of the brand. There is no single picture of what the reputation stands on.

Research

Interviews, competitors, materials and the market. The result is a report on how the brand is seen now, with no new position.

Report walkthrough

We go through the findings with leadership and separate facts from questions that still belong to positioning.

Frequently asked questions

and answers

Does brand research replace positioning?+

No. Research records how the brand is seen now: customers, competitors, the market. Brand positioning is a separate decision about one place against competitors. We do not write a brand strategy here either: there is no development plan and no architecture. You leave with the facts those decisions can stand on.

Do we have to interview customers?+

It depends. If you cannot reach customers, we use reviews, sales conversations and competitor materials. Interviews supply their actual wording. Without them the perception map is thinner, and the report says so instead of filling the gap with a guess.

Is research useful if the brand is new?+

Yes. For a new brand we look at the category: what people call the alternatives, why they choose, and which promises are already taken. That is a map of the market, not your company's position. The place on that map still has to be chosen separately.

Will the report tell us what to change?+

No. The report separates what the facts support from guesses and leaves the open questions visible. Where to stand and how to develop the brand are brand positioning or brand strategy, not this service.
