Product ads built on margin

We set up Google Shopping around product margin. Budget goes to the items that earn money, not only to the ones that sell.

WHO IT IS FOR
Early stage

The feed fails review

Products get disapproved in Merchant Center because of feed errors, so ads show only part of the range or don't launch at all.

Growth stage

Revenue grows, profit doesn't

Campaigns bring sales, but the budget goes to cheap or low-margin products, and almost no profit is left after ad spend.

Scale stage

Thousands of items in one campaign

A large range sits in a single campaign, bestsellers take the whole budget, and new arrivals and the long tail get no impressions.

Frequently asked questions

and answers

Google Shopping or Performance Max?+

It depends on your range and data. Standard Shopping campaigns give more control over queries and bids, Performance Max gives broader reach across all Google networks but less transparency. For stores with a large range we often combine both formats for different product segments. The choice is based on your account data.

Why does feed quality matter so much?+

Because Google Shopping has no keywords: Google decides which queries to show a product for based on feed data. Weak titles and incomplete attributes mean fewer impressions and irrelevant traffic. Feed optimization often has a bigger effect than changing bids.

We sell on marketplaces. Do we need Shopping?+

It depends on the economics. Shopping brings buyers to your own site, with no marketplace commission and the customer staying in your database. But you need a site that converts and a traffic budget. We compare the cost of a sale in both channels during the Clarity Session and recommend a split.

How many products do we need for Shopping to make sense?+

There is no hard minimum. What matters more is that products have a competitive price, search demand and enough margin to pay for the click. Even a few dozen items can perform well if they are the right ones.
