BRIEF

What did the client come with?

An online bank operating in the European market. The site needed search optimization and language versions for users in different EU countries, so it could win Google traffic in each market.

Problem list

  • The site did not cover search queries of users in different EU countries in their own languages
  • Technical errors: broken links, duplicate titles, an incorrect robots.txt, filter pages in the index
  • No sitemap, no structured data and no separate H1 for categories
  • No system of titles and descriptions for search queries in each language
GOALS AND TASKS

Get the site into search in every EU market, in its own language

  1. 01

    Cover the EU markets

Six new language versions for different language groups, each with its own set of search queries to reach the top for.

  2. 02

    Close the technical base

Indexing, sitemap, clean URLs, robots.txt and structured data, so new language versions enter search instead of getting lost in technical errors.

  3. 03

    Lock in the result

A financial literacy blog, links and reputation (SERM) as an ongoing system, not a one-off campaign.

PROCESS

Three steps from audit to scale

Step 1: Finding clarity

We ran an SEO audit and competitor research — site structure, content volume, technical health and keywords.

Stage result:

A map of the site’s weak points plus an SEO strategy.

Step 2: Building the growth architecture

VECTOR IT

Search Console setup, a multilingual sitemap for faster indexing, clean URLs on the added languages, a separate H1 for each category, a correct robots.txt, filter pages closed from indexing, structured data, faster pages, duplicate titles removed, broken links cleaned up and a redirect to the homepage for deleted pages.

VECTOR MARKETING

Six new language versions for different language groups across Europe: Russian, German, French, Polish, Italian and Spanish. Each language got its own search queries to reach the top for.

VECTOR CONTENT

A blog with useful financial literacy articles that covers a large number of informational search queries.

Step 3: Scaling and control

We repeated the niche and competitor analysis, collected search queries in every language, wrote meta titles and descriptions, and set system headings for images and category H1s. Link building and reputation work (SERM) now run continuously.

Stage result:

54 queries in the top 3, 336 in the top 10, and an average Google position of 9.

RESULT

A bank people find in search

Google visits grew from 173 to 1800 per day: 54 queries reached the top 3 and 336 the top 10. On days when the site appeared in Google suggestions, traffic reached almost 4000 visits per day.
